‘Azabache AV’ is an audiovisual project by Ana Quiroga and Estela Oliva, conceived as part of the creative universe surrounding Ana's debut solo album 'Azabache’ on Houndstooth, Fabric records.

The project brings together Ana’s musical compositions bridging the geographies and geologies of UK and Spain, through the azabache jet stone, connecting otherworldly sounds, synthesised voices, tribalistic drums and emotional drones. A ritualistic exploration of the inner powers of the self, the family roots, feminine powers, folk traditions, sacred amulets and magick. Estela’s visual interpretation creates a hybrid cinematic experience merging virtual and physical realities and experimenting with formats such as filmmaking, world-building and video games - including 3D scans of real artefacts and people, such as the artists themselves.

The show was premiered at Sonar Barcelona in June 2023 at the Stage+D stage, it is currently touring internationally. It has been presented at Festival Margenes(Madrid), Can Framis Museum, Fundacion Vila Casa (Barcelona), Att Bryta Ljud 2025 (Sweden). The artists are also developing other expanded pieces from the series including video works, exhibitions and a VR version.
